The mission of the non-profit is to restore crucial habitats for wildlife. The primary focus is restoring water, vegetation, agriculture, and shelter for wildlife.
Wildlife refuges are severely understaffed and face a multitude of problems. Each refuge has its own unique issue. Refuges are in dire need of knowing key water catchment levels, to if they are sufficient for wildlife. That's where we come in.
Defend the Wilderness will be checking water catchments and reporting to refuge officers their levels. The organization will also be conducting other activities for the refuges depending on their needs.
Restoring key habitats for wildlife is crucial for their survival. Wildlife can be severely impacted when agricultural shifts take place. Defend the Wilderness works closely with local farmers to ensure key resources remain available for wildlife when natural resources are depleted.
